Ever since that one fatal day years ago when former CEO of then RIM stated " we don't need apps " Blackberry lost its steam and we've seen one of the greatest downfalls in tech history.
2 CEO's later and that still stands true, the cursed Canadian company has announced that it will stop all in house production of phones an push everything to a 3rd party maker. This was forecasted to happen and even current CEO John Chen spoke on this happening.
But Lettuce not cry lettuce just remember the good times byke when BBM was popping an owning a BB was like owning the keys to Ferrari. Here's to RIM/Blackberry your run on top was epic but the fall heard around the world was just too much to over come....
Whats your thoughts on this news? if you are a current BB owner are you going to stay the course or switch to Android/iOS?
Tech: Tech company Blackberry cancels handset production moves to 3rd party option
It's been a while since blackberry updated its touch screen offering so at MWC 2015 it updated the Z10 dubbed the Blackberry Leap. It's a midranger priced right but will that attrack people to the woeing company? Let me know what you guys think about the phone in the comments below
check this unboxing out of the remodeled version of the awkward blackberry passport for ATT...is the phone for you? Let me know in the comments...video via BooredAtWork
Take a look at this quick hands on look at a future device coming from Blackberry dubbed the Passport so check it out and as always enjoy!
Yesterday blackberry had it's earning calls and like the newly appointed CEO Chen wanted things seem to be stabilizing and on the upside, but with that came a look at some interesting future Blackberry devices.
The picture above shows Chen holding the future of blackberry and wether or not they can survive in the new tech age. What are those devices? The Blackberry Passport and the Blackberry Classic both are keyboard friendly phones.
From the pictures I saw(above)I personally think blackberry did a good job the classic looks like a mix of the past and future bringing the belt back and combining it with the new OS and touch, and it also looks similar to one of BB best selling phones of all time. I'm sure people still on BBOS will be pleased and will find the transition smooth with this handset.
Now we talk about the Passport(pictured above) the handset that looks rather awkwardly square and probably a lil hefty. This handset is exactly what blackberry needs it strays away from what blackberry is use to but still offers what it's king at(physical keyboard) It's a design that has yet to be used and paired with BB10 OS version 10.3 the deal with Amazon to access their App Store and great marketing I'm sure these two phones will be a hit. The only thing stopping them is getting these phones out to the public in a timely manner and to make sure people know what BB10 has to offer this time around........
Amazon isn't out the news today just yet according to CEO of Blackberry John Chen the struggling OEM has struck a exclusive deal to have access to Amazon's android based App Store for it's next iteration of it's Mobile OS BB10(10.3) this is exciting news because if it was one thing blackberry was lacking was Apps now they just need to bring out a power house non touch and touch phone and see them gains word to da hodge twins...........
Check out a quick review from the guys over at CrackBerry for the budget BB10 phone the BlackBerry Z3 as always check it out and enjoy.......
We all know it's a boom in the health industry and it's the newest craze but instead of just creating apps and wearables the Canadian company known as Blackberry is taking it to another level.
BlackBerry is not only prepping a new device for enterprise buts it's investing as well which could be major for the struggling company. Recently news was announced that BB took a stake in a health care start up based out of California by the name of NantHealth.
While company's like Apple and Samsung are investing in apps and wearbles and gimmicky things BB is doing it that right way and for once in a long time its ahead of it's competition. My opinion is this gives BB a inside look at and the ability to develop tools and such specifically catered to the market instead of add ons and stand alone apps. Maybe we could expect a tablet in the works as well and of course a few phones here and there as well.
Hopefully this move brings some major W's for BB and they can return to a dominant player in tech like they were a few years ago........
BlackBerry is no stranger to leaks, this new leak is of a handset that was officially scraped by the Canadian company. The handset known by it's code name as Kopi, which looks like a more high end q5 honestly was leaked online with 3 pictures detailing what could have been.
Blackberry was smart to scrap this phone it's nothing special and they really really need to be working on a iPhone/galaxy killer and figure out a way to get their App Store in order.......
Other pics
Drama oh drama where art thou...
Blackberry is in the news again and again and again and again....and for all the wrong reasons. Blackberry late last night announced that it's not going to re up with the nations 4th largest carrier T-Mobile when it's agreement ends April 25th
Now I don't know how much this plays a part but a few weeks back CEO John Chen had a public spat with the carrier about a ad it sent out via email. T Mobile semi apologized and did a promo it backfired for BB(of course it would)
So this news means that BB was still butt hurt and decided to part ways but honestly it's going to hurt them. Doing something like this when your company clearly has no direction shows other companies you are unstable. Honestly I feel like it's a matter of time before Verizon, Sprint, or ATT follows suit or all three at once.
Hopefully John Chen has an incredible come back up his sleeve or by this time next year BB will be shutting it's doors for good......
CEO John Chen briefly spoke on ways to monetize BBM, so today the company announced BBM STICKERS and BBM SHOP
BBM Stickers is a way for Blackberry to gain some sort of monetization from BBM, along with stickers comes BBM Shop. When you open BBM(2.1) you enter BBM shop and there u can purchase sticker packs, each sticker pack contains roughly 20-25 stickers each and range from free to 1.99$
In order to use both BBM Stickers and BBM Shop u must be on BBM 2.1, which should be available now in your respective App Stores for iOS Android and of course BB10.
Will you try this feature out? I only have a few BBM contacts so I'll skip on this feature........
Blackberry(formerly know as RIM) is struggling right now switched ceo's and their latest mobile OS still hasn't taken off. So at mwc 2014 BB announced a budget touch phone Z3 and a classic BB10 keyboard phone the Q20(brings back the bb belt)
So today blackberry announced some more news since it's having trouble getting their os7 users to upgrade to their modern more sophisticated mobile os BB10 it's bringing back the BB Bold line. They're doing this In order to carter and keep those os7 customers happy and from jumping ship (to android ios or windowsphone)
Do you think this is a good idea?
You see what I did there in the title? Huh huh c'mon u saw what I did, peek is a word BB uses for one of its of features
But anywho BB10.3 recently leaked an the folks over at CrackBerry have a hands on video of 10.3 running on the Zed10(it's only currently available for the z10)
The build isn't stable so it's not recommended as a daily driver. Check out the video below and let me know what u think.......
The current state of BlackBerry Isn't the greatest right now(bad press poor sales etc) and this leak may not be helping either
The next iteration of BB10 will be 10.3 and thanks to some leaks we get a sneak peak at what's to come
Just a few pics nothing major but something that is major is that apparently an os version has leaked and if u head over to CrackBerry(BB fansite) they have a few threads up and running on what versions the leak works for and what works and what doesn't........
