Acquisitions, Acquisitions everywhere! 

The trend was started by Facebook a few years back by purchasing Instagram for 1B dollars, since then Facebook has bought SnapChat and Oculus Rift, Apple is making the biggest purchase in the companies history(beats audio), Google wants a piece of Twitch, Yahoo rolled the VIP carpet out for Tumblr, and now Twitter is flexing it's deep pockets and has it's eyes set on SoundCloud.

According to Re/Code Twitter is looking to find new ways to grow it's user base which right now stands at 250M and it feels that purchasing SoundCloud could bring in new users and also add some services to Twitter that it lacks. SoundCloud as it stands is valued at 700M so if the deal does go threw expect it to be close to 1B dollars when it's all said and down. Seems to me that more big purchases are on the horizon but I still wish Instagram was bought by Twitter it would have been a match made in heaven.......
