Some interesting news according to Re/Code Apple and Google are both interested in acquiring the mobile payment service company Square Inc. Both companies are looking to boost the usage of mobile payment and the acquisition of square they feel would help do so.

I'm not sure why Google would want Square when they have their own in house mobile payment system Google Wallet. Apple makes sense since they don't currently have a system they have passbook which probably is what square would turn into. Also I'm sure most people use square with a iPhone or iPad 

But then again this whole acquisition of companies thing by larger corporations sometimes doesn't work or they try to change the model of the business fire a shit load of people instead of just making it a subsidiary. Either way let's hope who ever purchases Square its the correct fit, but for now Square is still independent an  thriving none the less......
