WWDC A Fied
6/02/2014 06:13:00 PMSo today was the big day the beginning of a week or so long conference for devs using Apple's highly loved iOS platform to take advantage of new offerings before the public. But before all that happen in grand fashion Apple being Apple must put on a show to wooh it's captive audience and also draw in those who are sick of their current mobile platforms(android Windows or BB10)
Tim Cook took the stage around 1pm(10am west coast time) and begin talking about the presentations major points OSX and iOS 8. As the show picks up we where introduced to the next iteration of OSX dubbed OSX Yosemite(10.10) given a new fresh look Yosmite along with it's facelift was given some cool new features(too many to list I will post links below) just to name a few the ability to place and receive phone calls as well as text messages.
Along with that Apple also brought some hints of iOS over to OSX like transparent menus in which Craig the presenter had to remind us of several times lol. After that They moved on to iOS which like it's brother OSX got some much needed new features as well(again links at the bottom for full details) some most noticeable ones where quick response to notifications and The ability to add 3rd party keyboards.
All in all it was a very technical presentation and I myself using a 4S was really liking the LG G3 but today I think Apple may have swayed me. Adding more wanted features to iOS that users wanted means that Apple is listening and no it's not playing catch up it's refining making sure that when it does offer something it's done properly.
One minor disappointment was no hardware shown of this but it is geared towards devs so let's hope when the fall rolls around hopefully Apple like only Apple can shows off some amazing hardware to go along with that new beautiful software it flaunted today........
