It's finally official tech giant Apple has purchased headset maker Beats Audio for 3B( 2.6B in cash and 400M of equity in Apple) which would make partners Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre wealthy men.

Both Jimmy and Dre will take on exec roles at Apple with Jimmy getting the big job of taking over Apple's music empire, it has yet said what Dre's role will be but expect something to be detailed at WWDC 14.
