Coming from the same source as the iPhone Info I posted the iPad Air and IPad Mini W Retina Display this year will get minor bumps this go around 

Both iPads will be getting Touch ID and Apple's new A8 processor not to much going on this year or probably the next. So If you have this years iPad Air or iPad MWR I would wait til next year to buy a new one...........
